Same frog, same location, diferent angle.
To answer some questions from the comments - he did jump away in the end. He was originally sitting in the corner betweeen the tread and riser of the step, and I gave him a bit of a poke which moved him to this location - right on the edge of the stairs. I think the reason he didn't jump away while I was shooting is that he didn't quite know where to go. I was shooting 'blind' (not using the viewfinder), so he had me directly in front of him and the camera to the side, so he didn't really have any escape option.
