The largest and most significant glacial lake on the Australian mainland. The Snowy Mountain's lakes are home to three species of fish - mountain galaxias, climbing galaxias and mountain spotted galaxias - all of which can be found in Blue Lake. The cliffs on the side of Mount Twynam are used for ice climbing durign winter.
