Shorncliffe Pier #1

I'd seen quite a few shots of Shorncliffe Pier in the last week, so thought I'd head out there and have a look for myself. It was quite cool and windy, so I thought I'd try and capture that feeling by processing this in LAB mode. And then I thought 'why stop there?' and added a sandstone texture overlay. You can see the plain B&W version here and the LAB without texture version here.

I think this would be a great location at early dawn, when the rising sun would light up this whole side of the pier. But since it's a bit over an hour's drive from home, don't expect to see any of those here.

• Pretty cool. Gotta be honest and say that I prefer the LAB without texture. I think the texture makes it look more like a painting. Don't get me wrong, you have done a great job with all 3, but I prefer the other.

• I like the texture in this one. Nice processing. Unless you've reversed the image I'm pretty certain this side of the jetty is shadow in the early morning. The sun is too far north.
